Hockey !!!
Hi guys welcome back to another blog post.
What is Hockey? Hockey is quite a fun sport im probably more of the goalkeeper because I'm quite good at saving the balls and stuff like that.
Equipment you will need a hockey stick, hockey ball, goals and friends.
Safety, you should probably bring a mouth guard so it protects your mouth and shin pads.
I learnt how to pass and catch the ball with no struggle and also I learnt how to save goals and strike on the target.
Have you ever tryed out hockey if you have tell me something you learned?
have a nice rest of the day and week. BYE :)

Drama
Hi guys welcome back to another blog.
I am in drama for a hurumanu and we are doing stuff with mask and I have chosen to form a group with mask and gloves and bucket hats and do a dance in front of the other students in my class. we have some inspiration by The Jabbawockeez which are a dance group.
Why are masks used in theatre? Hidden identity and uniformity
thanks for taking the time to read my blog.

Treaty O Waitangi
Hi guys welcome back to another blog.
Today I am going to be showing what I have been doing in my hurumanu classes. I have been learning about the Treaty O Waitangi.
In what ways is a contract or treaty like a computer?
- They have Rules limits, and boundaries and you can only do a amount of things until you get to the end on the things you can do and there is nothing more you can do.
How would the treaty be different if it was signed by kids?
- It would be less formal and less complicated as the younger kids in those days most likely cant understand half the words on there so it would be more simple and it wouldn't really matter as most kids if they were asked to sign something they would just sign it without thinking or reading so anything could of happened, only the smart ones read.
Do you have any quentions or comment just pop Them don in the comment and I will comment back.

Parihaka
Hi guys welcome back to another blog post.
Today I am going to be showing you what I have been doing in my hurumanu. I've been learning about Parihaka ,Parihaka is a place in between mount Taranaki and the Tasman sea in the north island. I have heaps of question that I had to answer about what i know about Parihaka her you go.
What events lead up to Parihaka being established? Parihaka wanted to establish a community for everyone to be equal and to have peace in the world that they were living on land they believed the government had given them.. Then the government went back on their word, so the people protested peacefully, but they were still arrested.
What were the ideas behind setting up Parihaka? They wanted a safe place to live and to have a peaceful life before the lions/British troops came and ruined their life forever. They also wanted to
Who established Parihaka? The people who established parihaka was Te whiti o Rongomai and Tohu Kakahi they established Parihaka in the early 1860s.
Where is Parihaka located? Parihaka is located between Mount Taranaki and the Tasman Sea in the North Island of New Zealand
When did the invasion of Parihaka occur? It occurred on the fourth of November of 1881 about 644 soldiers and 1,000 settlers volunteers from all around the country.
How do you think the people of Parihaka were feeling when the troops entered their village? It said in the Video that they weren't fazed about it, stood their ground and waited for the troops to come and invade where they lived. I don't know how they were feeling but what I can say is when you know that people are coming to kill you, you are going to be worried and scared.
Do you think stories about the events of 5th November 1881 were reported on by the media at the time? No, I don’t
I don't because this was a very long time ago and I don't think that cameras were about back then and they had the technology to film it. But then again there could have been newspapers and letters that might have been sent to the mayor.
How long were Te Whiti and Tohu imprisoned? Where? What did they intend to do when they returned to Parihaka? They flew into Dunedin and stayed in jail for 1 year and then got let out of prison.
What was the impact on Māori when the New Zealand Company and other representatives of "The Crown" confiscated or purchased land very cheaply from Māori? What happened to Māori who lost their land? Where and how did they live?
How do you think the New Zealand wars impacted on iwi and groups of people who were no longer able to live on their Whenua? The parihaki who had fought the Crown lost very substantial areas of land. Under the New Zealand Settlements the parihaka would have felt sad that they couldn’t live with there family they also would have felt angry at the people that killed there family.
What does the word PEACE mean to you? What is "passive resistance? What does the phrase mean? The word peace means that there is no one fighting or harming each other and people are free to do stuff that they want to do and there are no disagreements. Passive resistance means that when people try to attack you try to use passive resistance and not fight them or when someone tries to arrest you try to use a non-violent way of refusing.
What other ways are there to solve major issues between people/countries that do not use violence as a way of controlling others or solving problems? Try to talk to them and find out the reason why they are fighting each other, try to prove that the other person didn’t do it.
Who are some of the other world leaders who have used passive resistance? What was their cause and how is it peaceful? Jacinda adern was a really good world leader when the coronavirus first started coming into the country she put us straight into lockdown even though the rest of the world was still spreading it. Now we don't have much of the coronavirus and we are allowed out of our houses but we still have to be mindful that it is still out their.

Gold Rush Fact:
Hi guys welcome back to another blog post.
Today I'm going to be showing you what I have done in the last 2 periods. Yesterday I made a blog about what I knew about the Gold Rush. Well today I have learnt some more thing about it that I would like to share with you. Here are some facts that I have read and put into my own words. Hope you enjoy.
People from different places around NZ rushed overnight to get to Otago for their share of gold. Some people even came over from Australia and also in the North Island of NZ
Around 1861 Denidin became NZ most popular town because people were rushing through their to get to the goldfields and heavy hit places were all the gold was being found.
During the gold rush people lived in caves in tremendous weather with only 1 blanket. They also just lived in a tent that was near by some of the gold fields and rivers.
Gabriel Read was the first man to find gold in a valley and they name it Gabriel's Gully. He was one of the richest men around when the gold rush was happening.
People from all around the world had come to NZ to go get gold from Gabriel's Gully and rivers nearby. NZ was Packed!!
The Chinese hear about the gold rush in 1879 and than quickly rushed to were the gold rush was happening and worked their for a while.
The miners didn't really like the Chinese because they didn't know them or who they were. People from England had never seen a Chinese person before this and they didn't like them because they weren't the same as they were. That is what Discrimination is and now day it is not acceptable.
I hope you guys enjoyed this. Have a nice rest of the day and week. BYE

Market Day
Hi guys welcome back to another blog post.
Today I am going to be going through a couple of thing that I have been doing this last few weeks. Market day is were you have to make a business and sell the products that you make. Next time I do this I am going to rethink the group that I am working with. Some of us worked really hard and some slaked off.
It cost us all 20 dollars that we had to pay back to the school. That was for a Bucket, Drinks, Lollies and Popsicle sticks.
We made $32.50 on the market day from doing a mystery game. Our total profit for the day was $12.50 witch I dont think is that bad.
I didn't really expect to make this much money because our group wasn't really organised and we weren't ready for the day.
I dont think that we made that much money because we weren't ready for the day and other people had better ideas than us.
I hope you enjoyed this blog please do not hesitate to comment have a nice rest of the day and Holiday.
