Paper Crane activity

Hi guys welcome back to another blog post .

Today i am going to be doing an activity wich involvess making a paper crane. 

TALK: Who is the girl in the video? Where is she? Why do you think she is there?
How did she get there? How does she feel? What is a paper crane? What does it represent?

DO: Make your own paper crane.
There is so much behind the story shown in this video.
Sadako was a child living in Japan when the atomic bomb was dropped
in Hiroshima, 1945.

The Pike River Mine

 Where is the Pike River Mine?

In the west coast of New Zealand. 

When did the mining at the Pike River mine begin?

Built the mine in 2005 and started mining November 2008

How many men where inside the mine when the explosion occured

There were 31 miners inside the mine when the explosion occurred.

How many men escaped?

2 Escaped.

Why were robots sent to the mine?

Because it was to dangerous for humans.

What desision did Jicinda Adern make and announce in 2019?

Jacinda Adern wanted to get the bodies out of the mine but did not suceed.

Another survivor recused and helped him escape 

Daniel are the only 2 survivors

Daniel's 21 yrs old brother didn't make it out

They don't know why the mine exploded

Russell couldn't breath and collapsed

He felt peaceful before he collapsed

Hey Everyone,

Welcome back to my Blog, this term we had Hurumanu 3 / Shaping Up, 

we learnt about Reflection, Rotation, 

Translation, Enlargement & Shapes.

Reflection is when you flip an Original Shape. Rotation is when you turn 90 degrees ( A quarter turn. ) 

Translation is when you slide the across, the shape stays the same though. 

Enlargement is making the shape bigger or doubling the sides by two. 

We also learnt about Shapes, Sides & Vertices.

Hockey !!!

 Hi guys welcome back to another blog post. 

What is Hockey? Hockey is quite a fun sport im probably more of the goalkeeper because I'm quite good at saving the balls and  stuff like that. 

Equipment you will need a hockey stick,hockey ball,goals and friends.

Safety, you should probably bring  a mouth guard so it protects your mouth and shin pads.

I learnt how to pass and catch the ball with no struggle and also I learnt how to save goals and strike on the target.

Have you ever tryed out hockey if you have tell me something you learned?

Drama

Hi guys welcome back to another blog.

I am in drama for a hurumanu and we are doing stuff with mask and I have chosen to form a group with mask and gloves and bucket hats and do a dance in front of the other students in my class. we have some inspiration by The Jabbawockeez which are a dance group.

Treaty O Waitangi

 Hi guys welcome back to another blog. 

Today I am going to be showing what I have been doing in my hurumanu classes. I have been learning about the Treaty O Waitangi.  

In what ways is a contract or treaty like a computer?
- They have Rules limits, and boundaries and you can only do a amount of things until you get to the end on the things you can do and there is nothing more you can do.

How would the treaty be different if it was signed by kids?
- It would be less formal and less complicated as the younger kids in those days most likely cant understand half the words on there so it would be more simple and it wouldn't really matter as most kids if they were asked to sign something they would just sign it without thinking or reading so anything could of happened, only the smart ones read.
